TecSOM and LES MANUFACTURES FEVRIER are proud to support the exhibition "Champs d'Amours, 100 ans de cinéma arc-en-ciel" which invites you to discover the cultural, sensual and sexual revolutions of the past century, as we celebrate this year the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, considered as the first example of the LGBT community's struggle.
For the occasion, TecSOM took part in the exhibition's scenography by deploying its coverings in the various dedicated spaces with a specially made printed carpet representing different universes such as the earth seen from space, a rainbow path, an old map showing the motifs of the Tuileries garden as well as Hollywood stars. A total of 734 m² of GALERIE carpets were printed with these different universes in the spotlight.
For the space "100 years of images, 100 years of movements", 385m² of "Rainbow" printed carpets were installed.
The principle for this pattern is to give an idea of the evolution of the representation of LGBT people in the cinema over the past 100 years.
At its beginning in 1919, the cinema had few films on the subject until 1969 (date of the Stonewall riots). From that point on, more and more films emerged to create a proliferation of contemporary films.
To reinforce this idea, we have created a line pattern using the 6 colors of the rainbow: from a simple line, more and more lines and colors are being added and mixed to form the LGBT rainbow flag pattern.
For the "GAI PARIS" area, 45m² of printed "Jardin des Tuileries" carpets have been installed
In order to illustrate the films in the room dedicated to Paris, we have chosen to print an old map showing the pattern of the Tuileries garden, a historic LGBTQ meeting place where Philippe Vallois' film "Johan" was shot, projected on a large screen in this space.
For the "All the loves of the world" area, 40m² of "Blue Planet" printed carpets were installed.
Here, the scenography reflects both the love stories told in the films presented in this room and the universality of these stories.
The impression of the motif of a giant blue planet in the center of the room, on which a huge red heart is placed in balance, reflects the idea that LGBTQ cinema everywhere in the world is all about love, about all loves.
For the "Award-winning films, masterpieces and Box-Office" area, 5m² of "Pink Stars" printed carpets were installed.
The pattern of pink stars scattered along the path of these spaces, takes up the idea of the "walk of fame" located on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles where the names of world cinema legends are engraved.
These stars illustrate the fact that LGBT cinema has also been a success with the general public and that it has entered the great history of cinema thanks to films and actors who have won awards at the most important events: Oscars, Cannes, Venice...
