The Velvet Underground Experience opens on Wednesday, October 10 in NYC till December 30. The exhibit, which was curated by Christian Fevret (who founded the french site Les Inrockuptibles) and Carole Mirabello (designer and producer), traces New-York City in the early 1960’s to explore how The Velvet, this iconic american rock band influenced modern music, fashion, arts and popular culture in frontman Lou Reed’s native city.

As a partner, the group TECSOM proposed to dress the exhibition floors with TecSOM Microtec 036, overal 1000 sqm.

You can find different universes like a look at what NYC was like pre-Velvets, set to narration from the late Alan Ginsberg, then move to a look at the city through the lens of legendary Village Voice photographer Fred McDarrah.

For opening day, the french industrial designer Matali Crasset, who designed the space, was hosted a special walk-and-talk through The Velvet Underground Experience where she shared her inspiration for the interior design of the exhibition..
